Jeremy Malwick is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Masters of Special Education.
I taught elementary school for 11 years, 2 in the regular education setting, 5 as a reading specialist, and 4 in a self-contained special education room. I have been a practicing BCBA for 5 years.
I currently have 12 Registered Behavior Technicians and 2 other BCBAs working with me helping create a team of diverse knowledge and experiences. We have speech pathologist majors working with out children, teachers who needed a change from public education but loved the kids and wanted to continue to impact their lives. We have teacher assistants working here as they increase their knowledge in other fields gaining perspectives of behavior. We pride ourselves in helping all people we can.
We have a small clinic in central Edmond. We are close to the bus route and some local companies that we have built relationships with that are allowing our kids to interact with people in a safe, real life setting.
I believe that we need to help society understand there is no such thing as “normal.” We need to work with all parties involved in the child’s life including other therapists, family, friends and school. Families not only impact a child’s life but are also greatly impacted by the child. Therefore, we take a holistic approach involving the entire family in the care plan. I believe we all play an important role in the child's growth and we need to embrace the strengths and facilitate the child to learn and develop life skills.
One way for a child to be successful is for them to learn to be a contributing member of our society. I am working to incorporate job training and placement as well as living skills and parent training. We are currently looking to expand our life skills area into an actual home build to facilitate this goal. Stay turned for more to come.
Collaboration with other professionals including other BCBAs is and will continue to be a goal of my clinic. We are here to support the child in all of their endeavors and will collaborate as a part of the team accepting our roles as they a provided. I believe that one person can do good things, but a team of people creates amazing, life changing results.
